This site is designed for midwives and student midwives. If you are a prospective midwife or student this is just the place for you! If you’re another type of birth worker such as a doula, birth assistant, or montrice you can find listings for job opportunities.
In short, no. Midwife Match is not a service that arranges clinical placements or preceptorships. Think of MM more as a “dating app” to connect students and midwives so that you can make your own connections.
Not at all. If you’re a midwifery student you have the option of posting your resume so that preceptors can find you but it is not required.
No. When you post your resume it is only visible to midwives that are registered users on the site. It is not visible to other students or the general public.
Cost
Midwife Match is FREE! Increasing access to midwifery care in the United States is of utmost importance to us and that means increasing access to students and preceptors.
Midwives
If you’re already a midwife then you’re still in the right place. MM contains a database of midwifery practices and current job posting for birth work positions.
Midwife Match is currently working to set up the site with “Incognito Mode” where you can use the services but remain anonymous. But, this is not set up yet. If you’re concerned about being persecuted please do not post your practice information on MM (yet).
