Birth Assistant

Kate’s Home Birth Services, a renowned provider of personalized home birth support in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Birth Assistant to join our exceptional team. Our mission is to empower expectant families by delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in the comfort of their own homes. Responsibilities:

• Assist our Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) during prenatal appointments, labor, birth, and postpartum care
• Provide emotional and physical support to expectant families, including comfort measures, position changes, and reassurance
• Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and safe birthing environment in clients’ homes
• Prepare and sterilize equipment, instruments, and supplies for each birth
• Assist with newborn assessments and postpartum care, including breastfeeding support
• Attend team meetings, trainings, and continuing education opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of client care, while adhering to confidentiality and privacy regulations
• Collaborate with the CPMs and other team members to ensure seamless care and support for clients

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a birth assistant, doula, or related field is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse clients and families
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and under the direction of a CPM
• Commitment to providing client-centered, evidence-based care
• Flexibility to work a varying schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
• Current CPR and neonatal resuscitation certification, or willingness to obtain
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the job
