Tricia’s Birth Center, a premier birthing facility located in the heart of Austin, TX, is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and skilled Licensed Professional Midwife (LPM) to join our growing team. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to expectant families during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, labor, birth, and postpartum care to clients and their families
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of clients, monitoring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, addressing their specific needs and preferences
  • Educate and empower clients to make informed decisions about their care
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients
  • Assist clients in developing and implementing evidence-based birth plans
  • Attend births at our birth center and provide necessary medical support, including managing complications and emergencies as they arise
  • Provide breastfeeding support and education to new mothers
  • Participate in regular team meetings, staff training, and continuing education opportunities
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records, adhering to confidentiality and privacy regulations
  • Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations pertaining to midwifery practice

Qualifications:

  • Current Licensed Midwife (LM) certification in the state of Texas
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal, labor, birth, and postpartum care
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse clients and families
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Commitment to providing evidence-based, client-centered care
  • Flexibility to work a varying schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
  • Current CPR and neonatal resuscitation certification
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and basic computer skills
