Licensed Professional Midwife

Tricia’s Birth Center, a premier birthing facility located in the heart of Austin, TX, is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and skilled Licensed Professional Midwife (LPM) to join our growing team. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to expectant families during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. At Tricia’s Birth Center, we believe that every birth is unique, and we are committed to providing personalized, holistic care for the families we serve.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive prenatal, labor, birth, and postpartum care to clients and their families
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of clients, monitoring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, addressing their specific needs and preferences
• Educate and empower clients to make informed decisions about their care
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients
• Assist clients in developing and implementing evidence-based birth plans
• Attend births at our birth center and provide necessary medical support, including managing complications and emergencies as they arise
• Provide breastfeeding support and education to new mothers
• Participate in regular team meetings, staff training, and continuing education opportunities
• Maintain detailed and accurate client records, adhering to confidentiality and privacy regulations
• Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations pertaining to midwifery practice

Qualifications:

• Current Licensed Midwife (LM) certification in the state of Texas
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal, labor, birth, and postpartum care
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse clients and families
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
• Commitment to providing evidence-based, client-centered care
• Flexibility to work a varying schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
• Current CPR and neonatal resuscitation certification
• Proficiency in electronic health records and basic computer skills
